The injection into damaged soft tissue or joints is a comparatively effective method for reducing pain in the joints as well as tendon, ligament and muscle inflammation. Although their effectiveness is still being researched, injections are becoming increasingly popular as they are fast acting and significantly reduce pain.  The ORTO Clinic offers three types of injections which have proven results as well as being safe and with limited side effects.

Depending on the location of the pain, injections are often made with ultrasound guidance to ensure the substance enters in the precise target area (for example in the finger joints and hips). Injections are often used for treating rheumatoid conditions. After any injections the patient must abstain from sporting activities for at least a week to avoid straining the painful joint, tendon, muscle or ligament.
