Ultrasound is a safe method for diagnosing damage to the soft tissue, using high frequency sound waves to obtain images. While ultrasound is a more superficial method than MRI, it is often fully adequate for diagnosing damage to joints and tendons.
The ORTO Clinic uses advanced ultrasound equipment to visualise specific but minor damage and changes in tissues that would be missed by using other ultrasound equipment.
A doctor’s referral is not required for ultrasound. After the examination you will receive the ultrasound images and the radiologist’s findings.
