Rehabilitation / physiotherapy

ORTO Klīnika’s physiotherapists work in close cooperation with the doctors of the clinic.

A physiotherapist is a healthcare specialist with a higher education in their specific area.

During the consultations, a physiotherapist  The doctor assesses the patient’s functional status, sets treatment goals, and develops an individual rehabilitation plan. The patient undergoes a thorough assessment using physiotherapy and general physical examination techniques, including posture and gait analysis, the evaluation of muscle strength and length, and the assessment of balance and coordination, along with any other methods required for the specific case.

ORTO Clinic offers both inpatient (post-operative) and outpatient physical therapy.

Inpatient

Physiotherapist starts working with the patient already on the first day after the surgery or even on the surgery day in order to achieve the best possible rehabilitation results after the surgical treatment. On inpatient basis, the physiotherapist is working with the patient once or twice a day in accordance with an individually developed rehabilitation plan.

By the time the patient is discharged, they have learned the set of activities that are to be performed independently until the outpatient rehabilitation phase starts.

Outpatient

  • Without surgical intervention (using conservative approach);
  • After surgical treatment within the framework of the rehabilitation programme;
