A physiotherapist is a healthcare specialist with a higher education in their specific area.
During the consultations, a physiotherapist physiotherapist assesses the functional condition of the patient, establishes the objective and tasks of the treatment, develops the rehabilitation plan. The patient undergoes a thorough physical examination, using physical therapy methods, like assessment of posture and gait, muscular force and length, assessment of balance and motor coordination.
ORTO Klīnika offers both inpatient (post-operative) and outpatient physical therapy.
Inpatient
Physiotherapist starts working with the patient already on the first day after the surgery or even on the surgery day in order to achieve the best possible rehabilitation results after the surgical treatment. On inpatient basis, the physiotherapist is working with the patient once or twice a day in accordance with an individually developed rehabilitation plan.
By the time the patient is discharged, they have learned the set of activities that are to be performed independently until the outpatient rehabilitation phase starts.
