ORTO Klīnika offers medical consultations by orthopaedic and trauma surgeons, spinal surgeons, anaesthesiologists, rheumatologists, neurologists, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, sports medicine specialists, nutritionists, and nephrologists.

Consultation with orthopaedic and trauma surgeon

In order to make the most out of your visit to the doctor, please come prepared. Write down everything you consider important about it on the paper. Here are some issues to consider:

  • What are your current complaints?
  • What diseases have you had before? Have you had any traumas before?
  • What is the history of diseases in the family (your blood relatives)?
  • Prepare and take with you the following documents: all test results and their descriptions regarding the particular health problem (blood tests, X-rays, computer tomography, USG, magnetic resonance imaging etc.);
  • Compile a list of medications you are using right now and their dosages (even if they are not related to the health problem in question);
  • Prepare the list of questions you would like to ask the doctor.

Consultation with spine surgeon

In order to make the most out of your visit to the doctor:

  • Undergo a magnetic resonance imaging or computer imaging (only with the referral of your family practitioner or other physician) for the back area that you have complaints about.

Consultation with rheumatologist

Rheumatologist is a doctor specialising in diagnosing and treatment of arthritis and rheumatic diseases.

In order to make the most out of your visit to the doctor, please come prepared. Write down everything you consider important about it on the paper. Here are some issues to consider:

  • What are your current complaints?
  • What diseases have you had before? Have you had any traumas before?
  • What is the history of diseases in the family (your blood relatives)?
  • Prepare and take with you the following documents: all test results and their descriptions regarding the particular health problem (blood tests, X-rays, computer tomography, USG, magnetic resonance imaging etc.);

What the rheumatologist will want to know from you during the consultations:

  • How long are you experiencing your symptoms?
  • Does movement ease or aggravate the pain and the symptoms?
  • Which joints are causing pain?
  • Has any of your blood relatives ever been diagnosed with arthritis?
Consultation with anaesthesiologist

What is anaesthesiologist responsible for?

  • Patient’s safety and health during the surgery;
  • Agreeing on the desirable type of anaesthesia;
  • Ensuring anaesthesia during the surgery;
  • Postoperative anaesthesia;
  • Blood transfusion if such becomes necessary;
  • Medical care in the ICU if the surgery has been complicated.

 It is recommended to have a consultation with the anaesthesiologist if you are planning a surgery at ORTO Klīnika.

Should you have several medical problems unrelated with the upcoming surgery, for example, diabetes, asthma, elevated blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, or thyroid diseases, please inform your physician.

Consultation with neurologist

Consultation with the dietician

In order to make the most out of your visit to the doctor, please come prepared. Write down everything you consider important about it on the paper. Here are some issues to consider:

  • For at least a week prior to the appointment, write down everything you eat and drink during the day, including all the small snacks between your meals;
  • Write down how much and what physical activity you do during the day (how many minutes you are walking or working out per day etc.);
  • Think about and write down what chronic diseases you have right now;
  • Prepare the list of questions you would like to ask the doctor.
